Kobe Synagogue Books

We recently moved back to Japan, this time to Kobe, home of the only Jewish community in Japan outside Tokyo.

The local synagogue – Ohel Shlomo – is our second home here. Shortly after arriving here, we decided to help restore some order in the books in the synagogue. Many were long due for genizah and the rest needed to be sorted and arranged. Who better for such a task than someone – viewed by some as deranged in this respect – who catalogues his own books?

So my son and I spent a few hours at the synagogue. Below are some before and after pictures:
